1. My son/daughter is struggling in his/her classes and could benefit from academic counseling and/or tutoring. Who should he/she contact?
Student Services offers academic support and advice for all students, as well as counseling for personal, social and career problems. Appointments for counseling can be made in person in room F121. In addition, students may see Ann McKinnon, the Academic Advisor, by taking an appointment with her via the Registrar's Office in F103. Tutoring is administered through the Learning Centre located in the second floor of the Library in room B301. Contact Doreen Kelly at (450) 672-7360 x222 to book tutoring or visit the tutoring page online at.

2. Our family situation has changed, which affects our finances and our ability to support our son or daughter. Who can answer my questions about financial aid?
Contact Ray Corbeil in F133 of Student Services for information about student loans and bursaries or at (450) 672-7360 x249.

3. Where can I find information about lodging for my son/daughter around St-Lambert?
There are several sources for lodging information. Champlain St-Lambert's Student Services maintains a Housing Registry that will assist you in locating apartments and rooms in the vicinity of the College. The facilities in the Registry are not inspected by Student Services although a general screening is maintained. Be sure to read all the "hints" in this brochure before you go apartment or room hunting. The lease that you sign or the arrangement that you undertake in the case of a private home is your responsibility. The Housing Registry is available through Student Services in room F121. The Courrier du Sud is a French language newspaper serving the South Shore with an excellent listing of properties and apartments for rent. They can be accessed on line at http://207.229.10.88/quebecor/courrierdusud/.

4. My son/daughter claims that everything is fine but I suspect they are having problems academically. Who do I see about getting a copy of his/her transcript?
Under Quebec law, Parents are responsible for their children until they turn 18 years old. Once a child turns 18, the parent is no longer entitled to information about their son's or daughter's progress unless prior written consent has been provided to the Registrar from him or her. If your son or daughter is under 18 and you feel that you are not aware of his or her grades, please visit the Registrar's Office in person in Room F-103, where you will be able to meet with someone to discuss their performance with an Advisor. It would be preferable to call before coming in order to assure that someone is available to meet with you. Please call 450-672-7360, ext. 256, and Pamela Warren will make the necessary arrangements.

5. My son/daughter may be having a substance abuse problem. Who can I contact?
A nurse who is responsible for health programming at the College is available on a part-time basis in F143. Student Services offers counseling for personal problems including substance abuse; appointments with them can be made in person in room F121. We recommend, though, that you seek medical counseling for your son or daughter from your family doctor or your local CLSC. The phone number for the CLSC servicing Champlain St-Lambert is (450) 445-4452. For a list of CLSCs in your area, consult http://www.msss.gouv.qc.ca/f/reseau/infoclsc.htm.

8. Where can I find information about what events are being held at the school and what deadlines my son or daughter has to respect?
