Intercollegiate
Program
Over
the years, more than 100 Champlain students have played on Quebec provincial
teams. Twelve went on to compete at the international level in soccer,
volleyball, basketball, rugby and figure skating as well as wheelchair
powerlifting and wheelchair tennis. Many students have also been the
recipients of athletic scholarships, playing at prestigious Canadian
and American universities. Others have been chosen to play on Professional
teams. So if your dream is to be part of a winning athletics program,
Champlain St-Lambert is the obvious choice!
We
have eight intercollegiate teams that sport the blue and white college
colours and go by the name Champlain Cavaliers. Teams are fielded in
men's and women's soccer, basketball, rugby and volleyball. A force
to be reckoned with, The Cavaliers have won numerous championships.
The women's basketball team has taken home both gold and silver medals
at the provincial championships, while the men's soccer and basketball
teams have appeared in the national rankings. In addition, the women's
rugby team qualified for the regional finals and the women's volleyball
team won the Division 2 Championships.
Dedicated to the development of the individual athletes of the Champlain
Cavaliers, and of the sport, are eight coaches and a full-time coordinator.
Annual evaluations of all Champlain coaches encourage them to continue
their professional development - an approach which helps ensure and
maintain the quality of the sports program.
