Bio - Lorelie Bouchard


I'm Lorelie Bouchard. I have been involved with teaching at Champlain Regional College since 1998. My areas of expertise are Geography and Group Tours. My studies in the Tourism Department at Champlain Regional College allowed me to obtain my Diplôme d'Études Collégiales (D.E.C.) in Tourism. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree (Geography) from Concordia University (Montreal). My experience in the Tourism Industry led me to occupy the functions of Group Coordinator (Americanada), Director of Operations (Atlas Conti), as well as Tour Manager for Quebec, Ontario and New York City.

Bio - Luc Danielse


I'm Luc Danielse. I have been involved with the Tourism Department at Champlain College since 1987. I hold a Certificat de Perfectionnement en Enseignement Collégial from l'Université de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke), a Masters in Urban Planning from McGill University (Montreal), and a Bachelor of Science degree (Environmental Sciences) from the State University of New York (Syracuse). I am particularly interested and qualified in the area of Tourism Planning and Developement. In the past, I was a Manager (Planning) for the National Capital Commission in Ottawa and worked at Tourism facilities Core Area Studies, Confederation Boulevard, and the National Aviation Museum. For 'Interactions' in Montreal, I was President & Project Director responsible for feasibility studies for 'The Montagnais Cultural Centre of Mingan, the Cree Lodge of Lake Mistissini, and the Pointe à Callière Museum in Old Montreal as well as the Old Port of Montreal. I also lecture in Urban Planning and Tourism at l'Université de Montréal, McGill University, UQAM and Concordia in Montreal. Every year, I particularly enjoy coordination the field trip to Mont Tremblant.

Bio - Brenda Jenkins-Marsan


I'm Brenda Jenkins-Marsan. I have been involved in the Tourism Department since 1990.My studies have led me to obtain a Bachelor of Education (Vocational) from McGill University (Montreal), a Masters degree in Arts (Education) from l'Université de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke), a Certificate (Adult Education) from Concordia University (Montreal), a Certificate (Business and Industrial Trainer Development) from McGill University (Montreal). In the Tourism Industry, I have received a diploma from the International Air Transport Association / Universal Federation of Travel Agents Associations (IATA/UFTAA). In the Tourism Industry, I worked as a Travel Agent, an Agency Manager before owning and managing my own Travel Agency. In the field of Education, I have had significant experience in the assessment of student learning, classroom management, curriculum design, innovative program implementation and instructional supervision of work study internships. In my everyday teaching, I enjoy using case studies, exercises, field studies and industry related projects. At the College, I have been involved with student travel to Holland and Switzerland, and within Quebec.I am a member of the American Educational Research Association, l'Association pour les applications pédagogiques de l'ordinateur au postsecondaire, the National Tour Association, and the Quebec Business Teachers AssociationI am particularly interested in research in the areas of future time perspective, gender issues related to learning, motivation and student success.In my free time, I enjoy cross-country skiing, fitness and nutrition, and kayaking.

Bio - Mark Langlois


I'm Mark Langlois. I've been involved with the Tourism Department at Champlain College since 1986.Laval University (Quebec) is my first Alma Mater; it's where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree (Philosophy). I then received a Licence ès Sciences-religieuses from l'Université de Montréal (Montreal), and Bachelor of Education from Université du Québec à Montréal. I am also hold certification as an International Travel Counsellor (ITC) from the International Air Transport Association / Universal Federation of Travel Agents Associations (IATA / UFTAA).In the Tourism Industry, I have been very actively involved in professional travel Education locally, nationally and internationally. After extensive travel experience as a Tour Manager (particularly in Europe), I owned and managed my own Travel Agency. I continue to do consultation work in group travel.At the College, I teach in the areas of Cultural Tourism and Guiding / Tour Management; I also coordinate the Tourism Project. I am very involved with our annual cultural trip through Quebec and am planning next years' trip to Paris and the Loire Valley.

Bio - Brigitte Malard


I'm Brigitte Malard. I have been teaching in the Tourism Department at Champlain Regional College since 1988.I hold a Bachelor's degree in Arts (Economics: Transportation) as well as a Diploma in Tourism Management from McGill University (Montreal). I am also a National Tourism Trainer for the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council / Conseil Québécois des resources humaines en Tourisme.I teach in the areas of Sales, Animation, Professional Development and Organization of Events and Festivals. I also coordinate the final stage for our graduating students. At the College, I coordinate the volunteer students who are involved at the International Travel and Tourism Show in Montreal as well as at the Salon Vacances d'été in Montreal, and see to the holding of the International Festival at Champlain College. I have also been involved in preparing students for interviews for employment at Walt Disney World (Kissimmee, Florida).I enjoy preparing the annual trip to Le Festival Western de Saint-Tite. In my spare time, I like sports-writing and dancing.

 

Bio - Melvyn Niederhoffer


I'm Melvyn Niederhoffer. I have been teaching in the Tourism Department of Champlain Regional College since 1988.Computer use, Computer applications (particularly SABRE, Apollo, and Worldspan), Tourism Marketing are my areas of expertise. I have been a travel consultant for over 20 years, In the area of airline tariffs, I am a consultant to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Association of Canadian Travel Agents - Quebec.I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours Chemistry), and 5 years of graduate research (Masters equivalent) from McGill University (Montreal).At the College, I enjoy coordinating the "study" day at Mont Tremblant. I like to combine the rigorous scientific approach of chemistry with the fun of the absurd.

Bio - John Saba


I'm John Saba. I have been at Champlain Regional College since 1977, and with the Tourism Department since the beginning of the Tourism Law Course (1989). I also teach Economics and Political Science.I hold a Doctorate in Civil Law (D.C.L.) and am a Doctor of Law from McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law (Montreal). I have a Master of Arts degree (Political Economy: Comparative & International) and a Bachelor of Arts (Joint Major / Honours in Economics and Political Science. I am an Adjunct Professor at McGill University's Institute of Air & Space Law since 1992 and the Editor-in-Chief of the international Aerospace Law Newsletter which reaches over 1000 readers.

Bio - Nadia Wassef


I'm Nadia Hanna Wassef. I am a graduate of McGill University (Montreal) with a degree in Cultural Geography. The Montreal areas was my research focus. I hold my Bachelor of Arts degree (double major in History and Geography), as well as a special Diploma in Education from Cairo University (Cairo, Egypt). I am a member of both the Canadian and American Associations of Geographers.I joined the Social Sciences Department at Champlain Regional College in 1979. I taught a variety of courses in Geography, History and Political Science. My biggest achievement was the establishment of the Tourism Program in 1986 which established the first link between the College and the Tourism business community. Tourism Destination courses now represent the principal teaching domain, and Cooperative Learning is my preferred method of teaching.I enjoy teaching, reading, playing the piano and most of all, interacting with my students. I see teaching as a way to facilitate learning and develop model citizens. My motto is 'Peaceful coexistence'.
