Trips, Activities, Awards

The cool thing about the Tourism Program at Champlain is the numerous
opportunities for practical experience, including field trips, excursions,
certificates, awards, and hands-on use of industry-specific computer applications.
Here's the scoop.
Trips
The Tourism Department offers students the possibility of discovering
a variety of destinations. During the 2001 - 2002 academic year, for example,
first semester students have travelled Toronto and the Niagara Peninsula
(October 2001). Third and fifth semester students will have the opportunity
of traveling to Paris and the Loire Valley (March 2002).
Excursions
In the course of their studies, students take several specifically focused
excursions into Montreal. They are also hosted by the Festival International
Western de Saint-Tite and have a professional visit to Mont Tremblant.
Activities
Students are also invited to participate in several Tourism events which
occur in Montreal such as the International Travel and Tourism Show as
well as the Salon Vacances d'été, among others..
Certificates and Awards
The Tourism Department affords the following additional certification:
- Certificate for Recognition for Tourism Work Experience
- Client Plus (in conjunction with Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council
/ Conseil Québécois des resources humaines en Tourisme)
We also discern the following awards to graduating students:
