Fitness Professional Specialist (FPS)
(A.E.C) JYC.06

Taught by fitness industry leaders such as Shelly McDonald (Reebok Master Trainer, CanFitPro presenter, host of CTV SportsNet's "Shelly's Fit Effect"), the Professional Fitness Specialist attestation is geared to candidates who have a Secondary V Diploma or greater and who are seeking the opportunity for professional placements in employment options such as activity programmers, health and fitness centre managers, exercise specialists or administrators, group fitness leaders, personal trainers, physical education teachers, coaches, and development positions within sporting associations and in government departments. The attestation provides a thorough foundation to physical education as a profession and a discipline, including an overview of sub-disciplines, resources, and careers. Participants will receive the training and preparation necessary to pass the CanFitPro Fitness Instructor Specialist I(FIS) and the CanFitPro Personal Trainer Specialist (PTS) certification exams. By the end of the attestation, participants will be certified in CPR and First Aid, and will be ready to write certification exams from CanFitPro and ACE (the American Council on Exercise).
