CD-ROM at Champlain 

There are four CD-ROM workstations available in the Reference Area on the main floor of the Library for students & faculty. These may be booked for 30-minute periods. Sign-up sheets are located at the workststions. Documents may be printed using a CHAMPLAIN Copycard.
DOWNLOADING to disk is NOT permitted.

PERIODICAL INDEXES & Fulltext:

  • ACTUALITE-QUEBEC, CANADIAN NEWSDISC, GLOBE AND MAIL - Canadian newspapers fulltext.
  • KIOSK:CBCA - Over 100 Canadian magazines fulltext.
  • SOCIAL SCIENCE SOURCE, HUMANITIES SOURCE - Indexing for over 900 magazines with fulltext for 200.
  • REFERENCE CD-ROMs:

  • E-STAT Database from Statistics Canada
  • JUSTICE CANADA - Consolidated statutes and regulations of Canada, searchable by keyword, trimestrial.
  • CANADIAN ENCYCLOPEDIA
  • ENCARTA '97
  • MULTIMEDIA CD-ROMs:

    These may be borrowed for home use for 2 weeks (less, if in high demand, or if placed ON RESERVE by faculty). Multimedia CD-ROMs can also be used in the Library - sign up for workstation #2 or #3. A list of current titles is available at the Circulation Counter.

    CD-ROMs accompanying books:

    Many books on computers and the Internet are now sold with a companion CD-ROM. These discs are kept at the Circulation Counter and can be requested when borrowing the book.
