Do
you have news or information to share?
The
news media considers something "newsworthy" if it generates interest.
Stories on the Media Relations pages are selected based on the interest
they may draw from the media. Here are a few examples of news we like
to use:
- Events
(such as conferences, guest speakers, performances, gallery showings,
student trips) which are open to our students only or to the public.
- Human
interest stories (examples: a graduate of the college who becomes
a teacher at the college, a faculty member or student who might have
overcome odds to succeed).
- Innovative
teaching methods.
-
New and revised academic programs.
- Outcomes
of faculty research projects or studies, especially if they involve
survey results.
- Special
activities such as Welcome Week, graduation balls or graduation ceremonies.
- Students'
news (deans' list, graduation list and scholarships) which would be
of interest to local newspapers.
