The Resource Centre (Library)

The Resource Centre includes Champlain's Library and Media & Learning Services. It occupies the second and third floors of B-Block, with plenty of space for quiet study as well as group work.

An online catalogue gives easy access to over 70,000 books, periodical titles, government publications, videos, CDs and audio cassettes in the Champlain collection. The growing and constantly changing area of electronic information services extends to CD-ROMs - indexes, full text newspapers and magazines, and multimedia - and to Internet workstations for research purposes - including both periodical indexing and full text and access to web sites.

Training in "information literacy" begins with a library orientation for all students as part of their first Humanities course. This is followed by a variety of workshops tailored to the needs of particular courses and introducing new technologies. Individualized help is also available for those using the Resource Centre.

Borrowing Policy

Students presenting a valid I.D. card may borrow books for two weeks with renewal for an additional two weeks unless the books have been requested by another borrower. To make sure books are returned promptly and made available to other students, fines for late returns are charged. See handouts and postings for current rates.

Hours

    • Mon. to Thurs.: 8:30 a.m.to 7:00 p.m.
    • Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Resource Centre is an area for work and study; therefore, quiet is the rule for all users.
