Why
Champlain
Champlain
College St-Lambert is committed to education in its broadest sense.
We promote an active and engaging CÉGEP community and offer an
important and wide-ranging intellectual, cultural and social experience
to our students. We foster superior academic achievement, leadership
talent, social awareness and personal responsibility and commitment.
Our outstanding faculty, programs, courses, computer centres,
cardio-gym, library and other facilities attract able and talented
students who go on to excel in university and in the workforce.
Our advantages are many. Champlain St-Lambert is:
Not
huge!
Our
smaller population (about 2,500 students) allows our students
to have the chance to form lifelong friendships and to build a
strong community life. Our smaller size also allows for a community
where you don't get lost and where students are known by their
names and not but their student numbers. An overwhelming majority
of our graduates report that, during their studies at Champlain
St-Lambert, faculty members were interested in them not only as
students, but also as individuals, and many had instructors who
served as mentors or role models.
Rich
with experienced and top-notch teachers
Most
classes, even introductory courses, are taught by experienced
teachers who are experts in their fields. Experienced college
teachers challenge students in the classroom, while offering students
the personal support and encouragement they need to help meet
these challenges.
Well-respected
Located in suburban St-Lambert, Champlain St-Lambert is one of
the most well-respected CÉGEPs in the province.
Dynamic
and full of heart
Extra-curricular activities at Champlain St-Lambert include sports,
theatre, debates, clubs, dances and parties and many opportunities
for elected public service. At the same time, the college has
heart. Every year, students join with faculty to raise funds for
the Run for the Cure (supporting research into breast cancer),
feed and cloth the less fortunate, save endangered species and
save the planet's natural resources. Beyond the personal rewards,
these co-curricular activities are important to employers and
universities who look for candidates with a wide range of interests
and leadership experience.
Diverse
Our
students come from many different communities within Québec and
from out of province. We celebrate the contributions of different
outlooks and cultures within a context of openness.
Supportive
Champlain St-Lambert offers its students support services to help
them adapt to college life, improve their language skills, improve
their interpersonal skills, and get through humps in the road.
The college has teachers, counsellors, academic deans and a registrarial
staff that care about students and their succeeding to achieve
their personal goals.
Rich
in resources
The college offers state of the art PC and Macintosh computers
for student use, a large library which includes iBook laptop computers
that can be borrowed to hook up to the college's wireless network,
tutorial services for most programs of study, an impressive cardio
centre and weight gym, a full functioning cafeteria featuring
both standard fare and vegetarian cuisine, and several student
run facilities including a large student and study rooms.
Champlain
St-Lambert is a wonderful place to study.
