Academic
Advising
Friendly
Champlain-St. Lambert Academic Advisors help students throughout their
CEGEP careers, from preparing them for college to making sure they have
completed the requirements to receive their diploma.
Worried
about how to register, college regulations, life at CEGEP? No problem.
Advisors hold Information Sessions in August to make sure that new students
are feeling comfortable about all these things before they begin life
at Champlain-St. Lambert.
While
studying in the college, students consult Academic Advising for assistance
in making all sorts of academic decisions. Sample questions Academic
Advisors deal with include the following:
- What
are the requirements for my program and how does my program work?
What courses should I take in the next semester? Am I on track in
my program? What happens if I get off-track? How can I catch up? What
is offered at Summer School?
- I
think I might want to change program. What should I do? Will the courses
I've done in my current program count for me if I change?
- I'm
having difficulty in a course. Can you help me?
-
What are university requirements for the programs I'm interested in?
Where are those programs available? Am I competitive for the program
I want at university? What can I do to improve my chances? How do
I make my application?
-
I'm in a career program. Am I eligible for university?
- What
strategies can I use to win scholarships for university?
Group
information sessions on various topics are advertised in The Hub, the
Champlain-St. Lambert newsletter. Champlain-St. Lambert students wanting
individual advice should come to Academic Advising in the Registrar's
Office or phone 450-672-7360, local 256, to make an appointment.
