IB Science

The IB Diploma program is designed for students who are interested in a well-rounded, enriched and challenging college education. It provides students with a broad and comprehensive education in Languages and Literature, Mathematics, Experimental Sciences, Social Sciences and the Humanities. The IB diploma, recognized by all Quebec universities as well as universities in Canada, the U.S. and countries around the world,
is an excellent preparation for students intending
to pursue university studies in Law, International Relations, Literature, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Medicine, Social Sciences and Commerce either at home or abroad.

In May of their final semester in the program, IB students write a total of six (6) IB examinations - three (3) at the Higher level and three (3) at the Standard level. The subjects and level of examinations students will write is determined by the specific IB Diploma program option for which they register.
Admission Requirements
All applicants to the Champlain St-Lambert Cegep IB diploma program should have a Diploma of Secondary Studies with an overall average of 80%, and a good grounding in both English and French.

As well, students applying to the Science option should have completed Mathematics 536, Physics 534 and Chemistry 534 with a minimum grade of 80% in each of these subjects.
Health Science students
Please note:
Students planning to enter a university program in Health Science are strongly recommended to take Biology 101-BLB in their 4th semester.

Health Science students taking Biology BLB and Spanish courses must follow the Physics course in the 4th semester but cannot receive credit for it. This does not pose any problems for graduation requirements or university entrance.
