  Champlain College Saint-Lambert will offer admission to as many qualified candidates as possible. Space limitations can, however, have an impact. When too many applications are received for a particular program, students with the higher academic standing will
be admitted first.

Admissions Requirements for Quebec Residents

The basic entrance requirement for all students applying to Champlain College Saint-Lambert is the Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies for Cegep Entrance.
 
     
 
Admissions Requirements for Out of Province and Foreign Students

As a post-secondary institution of higher learning Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires all candidates for admission to possess a diploma of graduation from their province, state or country. The eleventh year of a twelve year system may not be
substituted for a high school diploma since candidates will not have met the terminal objectives associated with the completion of their secondary education.
 
     
 
Out of Province Applicants - Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents

Québec law requires students who are not deemed residents of Québec to pay additional fees of $990.00 per semester. Please note that these fees are subject to change without notice.
 
     
 
Foreign Students
divider

Québec law requires Foreign Students to pay additional fees of $7,862 per academic year ($3,931 per semester). The fee for part time students is $19.12 per course hour. Please note that these fees are subject to change without notice.

Foreign students must also provide the following documentation before arriving to Canada. Foreign students should begin the
process of obtaining these documents once they have received their acceptance letter from Champlain College Saint-Lambert:

  • A “Certificat d’acceptation du Québec” (C.A.Q.), which must be obtained from the “Ministère des communautés culturelles et de l’immigration” of the Province of Québec;
  • A “Student Authorization” from the Federal Government of Canada;

Foreign students must provide proof of enrollment in a comprehensive health and accident insurance plan that is approved by the college. Students may obtain such an insurance plan at a cost of approximately $575.00 per year through the auspices of the college.

NOTE:
Foreign students may only apply for a Winter semester if they have a Student Visa which is valid until the end of the Winter semester.

 
     
 
Additional Documents That May Be Required

• If you completed your education outside Canada, and if both your mother tongue and your language of instruction are not English, you must submit the results of the TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TOEFL), or have the results sent directly, no later than April 1st, 2007.
• A letter of intent is required for admission to some programs (see chart), and also from students who have not been  studying full time for one semester or more. Your letter should indicate the following:

• why you are applying to your chosen college and program;
• relevant information to clarify your academic record if you have had difficulty; e.g. explanation of factors that affected your performance, medical certificates, proof of employment, including work hours, etc.;
• a brief description of your personal situation or principal occupation since leaving school;
• your related work/volunteer experience if either of your choices is a technology program.

• If you have a disability, please submit a notice from a professional so that we may be aware of your special needs.

Scholarships

Champlain College Saint-Lambert offers a Scholarship Program for incoming, current and graduating students.

The value of each entrance scholarship is $500.00. It is awarded to the student with the highest academic average among students with averages of 80% or higher in her/his program.

Scholarships valued at $500.00 are also attributed by the ‘Fédération des Caisses Desjardins du Québec’ to students who have the highest cote de rendement (cote R) midway through their program to help them complete their college studies.

At the end of their studies, graduating students are recipients of various awards, medals or prizes such as the Lieutenant Governor Award, the Board of Governors Award or the Quebec Association of Retired Teachers prize. In the past 4 years, Champlain College Saint-Lambert has had four winners of the prestigious Canadian Merit Foundation scholarships (valued at more than $40,000). Graduating students have also been recipients of the Canadian Millennium Foundation scholarships (valued at approx. $20,000) as well as entrance scholarships to universities such as McGill, Concordia, Université de Montréal, HEC, Queens University, etc.
