Field Trips and Others Events
Tourism Field Trips are an integral part of several courses in terms of exposing the students to tourist attractions, knowledge and skill building activities. Students travel and study, through assignments and meetings with tourism professionals.
As part of the hands-on teaching approach used in the Tourism program, students have the opportunity to take part in several activities which allow them to learn about people and places by visiting tourist attractions in Quebec, Ontario, the USA, Europe and the Caribbean.
Trade Shows and Events
Each year, Champlain’s tourism students actively participate in industry trade shows including the International Travel and Tourism Show at Place Bonaventure. For the past four years third year tourism students participate at the HMI annual event as volunteers to the Montreal Tourism Industry event of the year. These same students also put together a fundraiser event. Some of the organizations for which they have raised money include: Red Cross, Quebec Enfant Retour, Canadian Feed the Children, Shriner’s Hospital, Dans La Rue, Puerto Escondido Orphanage.
